Have you ever perused the shelves at Wine Merchants, picked up a bottle of something you’ve never heard of, and then, put it back in lieu of an old favorite??  As wine buyers, we tend to go with what we know, often skimming past wines that feel unknown without realizing their tremendous value!  Some of the greatest wines in the world are from obscure regions, made from unheard of varieties, are made with unusual vinification techniques, or all of the above!  Margarit Mondavi once said, “The only thing you have to lose when you open a bottle is BOREDOM.”  In this tasting, we’ll bring in the wines from the bottom shelf… the unique bottles that cork dorks love, most average consumers fear, and are ANYTHING but boring!!
Sara is a Certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers, a Certified Specialist of Wine through the Society of Wine Educators and received her Diploma through the Wine and Spirits Education Trust in London, England, in 2012.
